Mexico is the 10th largest exporter of oil in the world. It exports about 1.7 million barrels of oil a day. Money from the sale of oil makes up about one-third of the Mexican government's budget.

Mexico is also one of the largest exporters of silver. These mines produce about 15% of the silver sold in the world each year.

Other exports include fruits, vegetables, coffee, and cotton. Three-fourths of Mexico's trade with other countries actually comes from the United States. Mexico's economy is also boosted by tourism.
